Effect and safety of zeolite: clinical studies provide clarity

Zeolite, in medicine exclusively in the form clinoptilolite zeolite, is increasingly being used in medicine due to its detoxifying and regulating properties. Scientific studies confirm that certain forms of zeolite can bind and safely eliminate harmful substances such as heavy metals and toxins through ion exchange and adsorption. In the form of powder or capsules and as a certified medical product, zeolite is safe and effective when taken in the recommended dosage.

Long-term studies and toxicological tests show that there are no harmful effects. Side effects occur extremely rarely, are clinically irrelevant and are usually limited to slight gastrointestinal complaints if the dosage is too high, which can easily be avoided by slowly introducing the product and drinking enough. Zeolite does not affect the metabolism and is also safe for animals such as dogs, cats and horses. In addition to scientific studies, numerous reports from medical practices and health professionals confirm the positive effects on health and well-being.

Zeolite study overview: Scientific, clearly summarized and transparent

As with many naturopathic treatments, there are different opinions on the study situation. Our study overview therefore only presents studies that meet the highest scientific standards and stand up to objective scrutiny.

Note on transparency: Most clinical studies on medical applications refer to PMA-Zeolith® from the research and manufacturing company PANACEO International GmbH, which is a world leader in zeolite research. The focus on PMA zeolite studies is not an advertisement, but simply a representation of the available study material. The underlying PANACEO Micro Activation (PMA) is a patented process that optimizes the biophysical properties of clinoptilolite zeolite. Studies labeled as “Study with PMA zeolite” therefore refer exclusively to this specific form and are not transferable to other zeolite products.

Zeolite – Study overview

Zeolite study: Aluminum (Note: Study with PMA zeolite)

An in vivo study shows that clinoptilolite zeolite reduces the aluminum load in the blood, liver, bones and brain without releasing aluminum itself. The activated PMA zeolite was particularly effective.

Zeolite study: Leaky gut and autoimmune diseases (Note: Study with PMA zeolite)

Research shows: A disturbed intestinal barrier plays a central role in autoimmune diseases such as diabetes or MS. PMA zeolite can help to stabilize intestinal density.

Zeolite study: Irritable bowel syndrome / inflammation (Note: Study with PMA zeolite)

A study proves it: PMA zeolite lowered inflammation markers in irritable bowel syndrome patients, strengthened the microbiome and stabilized the intestinal barrier – without side effects.

Zeolite study: irritable bowel syndrome quality of life (note: study with PMA zeolite)

A large observational study showed that PMA zeolite relieves irritable bowel symptoms and significantly improves physical and mental quality of life – safely and well tolerated.

Zeolite study: heavy metal elimination

A human study showed that activated clinoptilolite zeolite significantly increased heavy metal excretion without disturbing the electrolyte balance – safely and well tolerated.

Zeolite study: blood values and mineral balance (note: study with PMA zeolite)

A clinical study shows that PMA zeolite does not negatively affect essential minerals, lowers heavy metals in the blood and could improve bone health in the long term.

Zeolite study: detox and cell protection (note: study with PMA zeolite)

A review shows: PMA zeolite binds heavy metals, protects against oxidative stress, strengthens the intestinal barrier and has an anti-inflammatory effect – without releasing aluminum.

Zeolite study: cancer rehabilitation (Note: study with PMA zeolite)

A review shows that PMA zeolite can reduce oxidative stress in cancer patients, stabilize the immune system and support detoxification during therapy.

Zeolite study: chemotherapy side effects (Note: study with PMA zeolite)

A clinical study showed that PMA zeolite prolonged survival in colorectal cancer patients, alleviated the side effects of chemotherapy and significantly improved tolerability.

Zeolite study: Osteoporosis (Note: Study with PMA zeolite)

In a five-year study, PMA zeolite reduced the risk of fractures, improved bone metabolism and reduced the intensity of pain in osteoporosis patients – without any side effects.

Zeolite study: Bone density (note: study with PMA zeolite)

Animal and human studies show: PMA zeolite increases bone density, promotes new bone formation and reduces bone resorption – safely and well tolerated.

Zeolite study: Alzheimer’s dementia

In an animal study, clinoptilolite zeolite reduced β-amyloid plaques and oxidative stress in the brain, protected nerve cells and showed no side effects.

Zeolite study: protection of probiotics

A laboratory study shows that clinoptilolite zeolite effectively protects probiotics such as Lactobacillus casei and plantarum from stomach and bile acids and improves their survival in the intestine.

Zeolite study: microbiome and gut health

An animal study confirms this: Clinoptilolite zeolite strengthens the intestinal barrier, lowers the pH value, reduces harmful germs and promotes the growth of good intestinal bacteria.

Zeolite study: Intestinal barrier in athletes (Note: Study with PMA zeolite)

In a clinical study, PMA zeolite stabilized the intestinal barrier of endurance athletes, lowered zonulin levels and showed anti-inflammatory effects without negative side effects.

Zeolite study: Safety (Note: Study with PMA zeolite)

A review confirms this: PMA zeolite is safe, supports detoxification, protects against oxidative stress, strengthens the immune system and does not cause aluminum release.
